Ulekan is an Indonesian restaurant on Jl. Tegal Sari – Jl. Pantai Berawa No.34 in Tibubeneng, Berawa, Canggu. It takes its name from the ulekan, the hand-held stone pestle and basalt bowl used to grind spices, and was opened in 2016 by two Australians before passing to an Indonesian family. The dining room sits in a traditional joglo draped with batik around an open kitchen, where Chef Sofian and Chef Sam cook heritage recipes with local ingredients and add a new dish each month. A second Ulekan runs in Munduk.
