Shelter is a wood-fired Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant on Jalan Pantai Pererenan in Pererenan, Canggu. It is led by co-owner and culinary director Stephen Moore with executive chef Francisco Benedicto Borges, and its menu runs from black angus ribeye to stone-baked za'atar, backed by an extensive wine and drinks list. Separate lunch, dinner, vegan, drinks and dessert menus are published, and tables are booked through SevenRooms.

Food was excellent. Beef cooked to perfection, barramundi tender and soft. Must order the tuna tartar — mind-blowing. Don't forget the apple cake to finish. Shout out to Tirta, who looked after us so well.
Scallops and the charred octopus were the standouts, the cocktails are excellent, and the garden setting is gorgeous. Reservations required — book ahead.
Beautiful outdoor seating and great cocktails. Plates are made for sharing, so order a few; it gets busy and lively at night.
